Capital STEEZ - AmeriKKKan Korruption (Reloaded & Remastered) I only came across STEEZ and the PE crew at the end of 2013. I've never been so moved by an MC, and I've been moved by MC's since I heard my first hip-hop tape back in 1988, which was PE's 'It Takes A Nation ...' and it was during the death throes of apartheid in South Africa. I could write a long book about all the hip-hop music that has moved me. But to this date STEEZ is the Apex, and that is just my humble opinion. You may agree with me - great! You may disagree with me - great! I totally respect your opinion. Keep up the passion and fuck the hate. I'm not saying he is the best, only that he has moved me the most (although to me that makes him the best, to me). The only thing about AK that disappointed me was the audio quality. Don't get me wrong, I love the raw DIY nature of it, but felt that it could do with a skilled mastering touch and also to level out the loudness across the tracks. So I approached Gregg at Hermetech Mastering (http://hermetechmastering.com/) to do just that, initially just for my own listening pleasure. Then my mind wandered into vinyl (my preferred format) and perhaps doing a short-run deluxe vinyl edition of 300 copies or so, with liner notes written by, and personal photo's by, his family. Also, with all profits going to his family or a charity of their choice. I got as far as making contact with his sisters. Unfortunately, it seems to have stalled and is highly unlikely that it'll happen. I don't know why, probably because I came across as a bit nuts and totally obsessed (all true). I know I could just go ahead and do it without his family's consent, but that isn't my style. So, it is time to share the mastered version of AmeriKKKan Korruption (Reloaded). Please share it widely, with love. You can also download it as individual tracks (44.1kHz / 24 bit WAV) from my Google Drive: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B-SNJMC7NK5WMzhicnF5ZUcxVkk To STEEZ, the mad genius, thanks so much.

Florida resident Doug Hughes flew 65 miles from Gettysburg, Pennsylvania to Washington, D.C. in his gyrocopter before landing in front of the Capitol building Wednesday afternoon. The 61-year-old postal worker flew into the restricted airspace in a publicity stunt to draw attention to campaign finance reform. Mr. Hughes intended to deliver the stamped letters in a non-violent attempt to protest government corruption and to prompt lawmakers to advance campaign finance reform.

The fall of Jack Abramoff has exposed a huge web of corruption that still remains vastly unreported by the broadcast media, even as investigators continue to chase down leads and quiz insiders and witnesses. This clip is from the upcoming PBS documentary "Capitol Crimes" from Bill Moyers, airing October 4 (check local listings), which untangles emails, reports, interviews and facts on the record to provide viewers with a coherent pattern of criminal and political chicanery. Hampton the Most Corrupt Town in America http://www.cnn.com/2014/03/09/us/hampton-florida-corruption/ Hampton, Florida (CNN) -- How off-the-charts corrupt do you have to be to capture somebody's attention in the Sunshine State? You can lay claim to a 1,260-foot stretch of busy highway a mile outside of town and set up one of the nation's most notorious speed traps. You can use the ticket money to build up a mighty police force -- an officer for every 25 people in town -- and, residents say, let drugs run rampant while your cops sit out by the highway on lawn chairs, pointing radar guns at everybody who passes by. Of course, none of those things are illegal. But when you lose track of the money and the mayor gets caught up in an oxy-dealing sting, that's when the politicians at the state Capitol in Tallahassee take notice. Now they want this city gone, and the sooner the better. A state audit of Hampton's books, released last month, reads like a primer on municipal malfeasance. It found 31 instances in which local rules or state or federal laws were violated in ways large and small. Read the audit (PDF) Somewhere along the way, the place became more than just a speed trap. Some say the ticket money corrupted Hampton, making it the dirtiest little town in Florida. That's saying something, because Florida has seen enough civic shenanigans to lead the nation in federal corruption prosecutions and convictions, according to a watchdog organization called Integrity Florida. The group's 2012 study revealed that more than 1,760 of Florida's public officials had been convicted of corruption since 1976.

http://democracynow.org - More than 400 people were arrested Monday in a massive sit-in on the steps of the U.S. Capitol to protest the influence of big money and corporate lobbying in politics. The protest, organized under the name Democracy Spring, brought together activists from about 140 organizations who marched from Philadelphia to Washington last week. Similar acts of civil disobedience are scheduled throughout the week in Washington. We speak to Kai Newkirk, campaign director of Democracy Spring and co-founder and an organizer with 99Rise. He was arrested yesterday in the action at the U.S. Capitol. Democracy Now! is an independent global news hour that airs weekdays on nearly 1,400 TV and radio stations Monday through Friday. SOURCE : https://goo.gl/J3kWqc Look Who’s Been Indicted, Facing Corruption ChargesDemocrats Can’t Believe Their Ears There seems to be a running joke going around that says, “If a Democrat hasn’t committed a crime in your neighborhood yet, wait a minute.” While that may not be technically right, it calls attention to a growing perception in the American public’s eyes that, although Republicans may be corrupt and not doing what they said they’d do after the election is over, it is the Democrat that is being busted for the really abhorrent crimes of rape, molestation, lascivious behavior, promoting prostitution, supporting pedophiles, evading taxes, running savings and loans scams, selling uranium to the Russians, etc., etc. The perception is growing because, quite frankly, the headlines seem to indicate that to be a criminal means to belong to the Democrat Party. There’s no two ways about it. While the Fake News Industrial Complex may be attempting to tamp down the occurrences by ignoring literally half of the reports, there’s no denying that the Left has a virtual monopoly on felonious behavior. Enter 12-time-elected Dawnna Dukes of Texas! This woman is truly a poster child for the Jackass Party’s run of the mill felons. She was just caught coming to work under the influence of Morphine, had missed a full 65% of her shifts at work, and had paid an online psychic in excess of $51K in taxpayer money! The Gateway Pundit: Another day, another corrupt Democrat. Texas Democrat State Rep. Dawnna Dukes is facing corruption charges; her trial is set for October 16th. Travis County prosecutors claim Dukes showed up to the Capitol impaired, hid a cell phone from investigators and spent over $51,000 on an online psychic. Dukes apparently used her own money for the psychic; the court documents do not indicate that she used taxpayer money.Austin-American Statesman reported:

These US-led global initiatives highlight the significance of creating a level playing field for local small and medium size entrepreneurs and for US companies competing in foreign countries.   In order to effectively address these issues, there is an urgency to create an engaged network of principled leaders worldwide in order to strengthen the rule of law, advance transparency and address the growing problem of transnational organized crime.

Jack Allan Abramoff (born February 28, 1958) is an American former lobbyist, businessman, movie producer and writer. About the book: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1936488442/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=1936488442&linkCode=as2&tag=tra0c7-20&linkId=d2232aa51e83186966e95c956471dade He was at the center of an extensive corruption investigation that led to his conviction and to 21 persons either pleading guilty or being found guilty, including White House officials J. Steven Griles and David Safavian, U.S. Representative Bob Ney, and nine other lobbyists and Congressional aides. Abramoff was College Republican National Committee National Chairman from 1981 to 1985, a founding member of the International Freedom Foundation, allegedly financed by apartheid South Africa, and served on the board of directors of the National Center for Public Policy Research, a conservative think tank. From 1994 to 2001 he was a top lobbyist for the firm of Preston Gates & Ellis, and then for Greenberg Traurig until March 2004. After a guilty plea in the Indian lobbying scandal and his dealings with SunCruz Casinos in January 2006, he was sentenced to six years in federal prison for mail fraud, conspiracy to bribe public officials, and tax evasion. He served 43 months before being released on December 3, 2010. After his release from prison, he wrote the autobiographical book Capitol Punishment: The Hard Truth About Corruption From America's Most Notorious Lobbyist which was published in November 2011. Abramoff's lobbying and the surrounding scandals and investigation are the subject of two 2010 films: the documentary Casino Jack and the United States of Money, released in May 2010, and the feature film Casino Jack, released on December 17, 2010, starring Kevin Spacey as Abramoff. Abramoff spent 10 years in Hollywood. He wrote and produced, with his brother Robert, the 1989 film Red Scorpion. The film had a $16 million budget and starred Dolph Lundgren playing the Spetsnaz-like Soviet commando Nikolai, sent by the USSR to assassinate an African revolutionary in a country similar to Angola. Nikolai sees the evil of the Soviets and changes sides, becoming a freedom fighter for the African side. The two Abramoff would also produced its 1994 sequel Red Scorpion 2. The South African government financed the film via the International Freedom Foundation, a front-group chaired by Abramoff, as part of its efforts to undermine international sympathy for the African National Congress. The filming location was in South-West Africa (now Namibia). On April 27, 1998, Abramoff wrote a letter to the editor of The Seattle Times rebutting an article critical of him and his alleged role as effectively a Public Relations puppet of the then-apartheid South African military. Abramoff rebutted: "The IFF was a conservative group which I headed. It was vigorously anti-Communist, but it was also actively anti-apartheid. In 1987, it was one of the first conservative groups to call for the release of Nelson Mandela, a position for which it was roundly criticized by other conservatives at the time. While I headed the IFF, we accepted funding only from private individuals and corporations and would have absolutely rejected any offer of South African military funding, or any other kind of funding from any government — good or evil." During this period in South Africa, Abramoff first met South African--born rabbi David Lapin, who would become his religious advisor, and Lapin's brother and fellow rabbi Daniel Lapin, who allegedly introduced Abramoff to Congressman Tom DeLay (R-TX) at a Washington, DC dinner shortly after the Republican takeover of Congress in 1994. Lapin later claimed that he did not recall the introduction. In November 2011 the book Capitol Punishment: The Hard Truth About Corruption From America's Most Notorious Lobbyist Abramoff wrote after he was released from prison was published. The 300-page memoir is an account of his life in Washington as a lobbyist. In its last chapter, titled "Path to Reform", Abramoff portrays himself as someone who supports genuine reform and lists a number of proposals to eliminate bribery of government officials, such as barring members of Congress and their aides for life from becoming lobbyists. Abramoff has become a critic of the lobbying industry and has appeared on radio and television, "trying ... to redeem and rebrand himself". He has a Facebook page and game app called "Congressional Jack", and a feature film in the works about the lobbying milieu. He plans to charge for giving talks about corruption in Washington, and has briefed F.B.I. agents on the nature of corruption. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack_Abramoff

ALBANY -- The 2013 legislative session could go down as the least productive, in terms of the number of bills passed, in the history of New York State.According to the New York Public Interest Research Group, NYPIRG, as of June 16th just 194 bills had passed both the senate and the assembly. That is 31 fewer than this time last year and 181 fewer than this time in 2011, research shows. For this current legislative body to avoid the least productive stigma they will need to approve 378 bills by Thursday June 20th, the scheduled last day of session. The fewest number of bills passed, all time, occurred in 2012 when just 571 were approved by the senate and assembly, NYPIRG research shows. Many lawmakers said Monday they believe the corruption and scandals slowed progress this year.I think it has gotten us off track, said Assembly member Steve McLaughlin, R- Melrose. It has been the focus of this session if you will. It has been the focal point of what is going on here, McLaughlin added. Many lawmakers agree with McLaughlin both in his own house and in the senate. Lawmakers from both parties also agree with him.I absolutely do, I think people are more anxious to go home, said Senator Neil Breslin, D-Delmar. Since the beginning of session lawmakers have been answering questions about scandals. It all started in August of 2012 when it was made public Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver approved a taxpayer funded cash settlement to two of former Assemblyman Vito Lopez's staffers. Four women in all accused Lopez of sexual harassment. Also in this session five state lawmakers were arrested and charged with various crimes from bribery to extortion to embezzlement.
